Wilkerson Named MWC Baseball Player of the Week

MONMOUTH, Ill. (04/13/2026) — Monmouth College junior baseball player Jace Wilkerson (East Peoria, Illinois) was named Midwest Conference Player of the Week on Monday.

A two-way player, Wilkerson had a break-out week for the Scots who went 2-2 in four conference games. Overall he hit .524 (11-for-21) and slugged 1.095 with three homers, a double, a triple, a walk, seven runs scored and 12 RBI. Wilkerson had at least two hits and two RBI in all four games.

On Tuesday, Wilkerson was 2-for-4 with three RBI and a walk in game one against IC and 4-for-5 with two homers, four RBI and three runs scored in game two. He also started that game on the mound with one earned run allowed over three innings as he struck out three and homered in the 1st inning, Ohtani style.

Wilkerson homered again at Knox on Saturday going 3-for-7 with two RBI, two runs scored and a double. On Sunday he was 2-for-5 with a triple, three RBI and two runs scored in a 15-6 win at Knox. He is tied for the MWC HR lead (6) and is second in RBI in conference games (16).

Wilkerson is the first Monmouth hitter to be named Player of the Week this season. Roy Ralston (Macon, Illinois) was named Pitcher of the Week in March. The Scots will play at Illinois College on Wednesday before hosting Cornell in a Noon DH on Saturday.
