Beach Named Women's Soccer Performer of the Week

Freshman earns second honor in three weeks

MONMOUTH, Ill. (10/23/2023) — Monmouth College freshman Danielle Beach (Geneseo, Illinois) has been named Midwest Conference women's soccer Offensive Performer of the Week for the second time in three weeks. Beach helped the Scots to a pair of 3-0 wins last week with three goals and one assist in the two games. The Geneseo native was also named MWC Performer of the Week on Oct. 9 and is one of two players to win multiple awards this season.

Beach scored the final goal in the 3-0 home win over Knox on Wednesday. She played 83 minutes in the game and took five shots on goal. On Saturday, Beach scored the first goal of the game against Ripon to give the Scots a 1-0 lead at halftime. In the second half, Beach assisted on a goal by Madison Walker (Vernon Hills, Illinois) and then scored a second goal five minutes later. Monmouth kept their MWC Tournament hopes alive with both wins and enter the final week of the season in fifth place in the standings.

Beach is tied with Walker for the team lead with nine goals and the duo are tied for second in hte MWC in goals scored. Beach leads the MWC with nine assists which is tied for fifth on the Monmouth single-season list. Beach is also second in the MWC with 27 points, 15th on Monmouth's single-season list. She has scored or assisted in five of the last six games and Beach has six goals to go with three assists in seven MWC games.

Monmouth plays their final regular season game at Grinnell on Tuesday, needing a win to move into the top four in the conference standings. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. in Iowa.
