MONMOUTH, Ill. (04/04/2023) — Monmouth College track and field sophomore Maddie Boley (Beecher) was named Midwest Conference Field Performer of the Week after the Scots first outdoor meet of the 2023 season.

Boley finished top three in all three of her events at the St. Ambrose Spring Opener on Saturday and she was the top Division III finisher in both the discus and shot put. Boley, the defending MWC champion in the discus, threw 42.50m in the discus on Saturday. That throw leads the MWC by nearly four meters and ranks 10th among all D3 competitors on the season. She threw the shot put 12.20m on Saturday and that performance is best among all MWC throwers this spring and 47th nationally. Boley won the shot put at the MWC Indoor Championships in February and finished second at the Outdoor Championships last year.

Boley's hammer throw on Saturday was 40.08m, second to teammate Amanda Dybal (Apex, North Carolina). Dybal won the event at 42.50m which is tops in the MWC. Boley ranks third overall in the MWC in the hammer.

Boley won one Field Performer of the Week awards in the indoor season as well. She was also the Field Performer of the Year at the MWC Indoor Championships.

The track and field team will compete at the IC True Blue Open on Friday in Jacksonville, Illinois. The meet, hosted by Illinois College, begins at 11 a.m.
