Bossert Cards Second-Best 36-hole Gibson Woods Score in MC History

MONMOUTH, Ill. (09/16/2024) — The Monmouth golf teams finished the Fighting Scot Fall Invite on Sunday at Gibson Woods with Briggs Bossert (Evanston, Illinois) finishing in second place overall with a score of 1-under par for the tournament.

Bossert followed a +1 72 on Saturday with 2-under 69 on Sunday. He finished with 141 on the tournament, one shot behind a golfer from Waldorf who shot 66 on Sunday. Bossert's 69 is tied for the fourth lowest score by a Monmouth golfer at Gibson Woods and also tied for the eighth best round in school history His tournament score of 141 is the second-best 36-hole score at Gibson Woods by a Fighting Scots golfer and the fourth-best ever. Norm Lydiard holds both records at 64 and 138 from his 1975 season.

Ganon Greenman (Alpha, Illinois) shot a second straight +2 73 and finished sixth. Thomas Henson (Geneseo, Illinois) and Cole Reavis (Buena Vista, Colorado) tied for 45th at +27. Henson shot a 86 on Sunday while Reavis fired an 82. CJ Pugh (Abingdon, Illinois) shot an 87 on Sunday, five shots better than his Saturday score, to finish 58th. Playing as an individual, Zackery Manley (Lincoln, Illinois) shot a +23 94 on Sunday and finished 59th.

On the women's side, Annalyn Lovell (Oneida, Illinois) finished in 29th place with her second straight round of +32 103. She was the only competitor for the Scots on the women's team so Monmouth did not have a team score.

The Scots next play in the Midwest Region Classic in Kansasville, Wisconsin. Both the men and women's teams will compete in the 2-day event on Friday and Saturday.
