Cross Country Teams Finish Season at NCAA Regionals

Six runners post career bests on Saturday

MONMOUTH, Ill. (11/12/2023) — The Monmouth College cross country teams both completed their seasons in the NCAA Midwest Regional on Saturday in Waverly, Iowa. The men's team finished in 25th place out of 31 teams while the women didn't register a team score.

William Plumley (Geneseo, Illinois) finished in 108th place with a new personal-best time of 26:46.9. Eli Newton (Dallas City, Illinois) was 136th overall with a personal-best time of 27:29.6. Freshman Xander Stoub (Palos Heights, Illinois) also set a new PR with a time of 28:19.7 as he finished in 162nd place. Neo Colter (Geneseo, Illinois) finished in 192nd place in 30:23.6 and Braden Bernas (Aurora, Illinois) was 206th in 31:50.1. Nate Newlin (DeKalb, Illinois) set a new PR with a time of 40:50.7 in 230th place.

The women had a pair of new personal bests but didn't have a team score in the event.

Samantha Costello (Morris, Illinois) finished 130th with a PR of 25:17.9. Lindsay Eaton (Danvers, Illinois) was in 159th place with a PR of 26:48.4 and Melissa Bivolarov (Arlington Heights, Illinois) was in 165th place with a time of 27:10.4. Emma Heiser (Marseilles, Illinois) finished in 20th place with a time of 33:46.8
