MONMOUTH, Ill. (09/23/2024) — The public is invited to attend the inauguration of Dr. Patricia H. Draves as the 15th president of Monmouth College.
What: The installation of Dr. Patricia H. Draves as the 15th president of Monmouth College will be the highlight of 2024 Homecoming Weekend events. The theme of her inauguration is: "Rooted in Legacy, Growing Our Future."
When: 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4, 2024
Where: Wallace Hall Plaza, Monmouth College, 700 East Broadway, Monmouth, Illinois. (Rain site: Huff Athletic Center Fieldhouse.)
About the Inauguration: In addition to representatives from other U.S. colleges and universities, the ceremony will include 88 Monmouth College class representatives from the years 1941-2028.
The Bible to be used in the ceremony is the Biblia Sacra Polyglotta, from the rare books collection in the college's Hewes Library. It uses eight languages -- Hebrew, Greek, Latin, English, French, German, Italian and Spanish. Printed in 1869, it was presented to Monmouth's first president, the Rev. David A. Wallace, by members of the Monmouth College Class of 1875 on the occasion of their graduation from the college.
