Men's Tennis Completes Singles Play at MWC Tournament

Doubles to finish on Sunday

MONMOUTH, Ill. (04/26/2025) — The Monmouth College men's tennis team opened play at the Midwest Conference Individual Tournament on Saturday with singles and doubles play.

At No,. 1 singles, Sawyer Day (Cupertino, California) lost 6-0, 6-2 to Lake Forest in the main draw and 8-3 to Illinois College in the consolation semifinals.

Matt Savage (Washington, Illinois) played at No. 2 singles and lost 6-0, 6-4 to Illinois College in the main draw. He battled to force a tiebreak but lost 8-7 (3) to Ripon in the consolation semifinals.

Antonio Perez (St. George, Utah) lost 6-0, 6-0 to Grinnell at No. 3 singles in the main draw. He then fell 8-4 to Ripon in the consolation semifinals.

Macaden Sepich (Mackinaw, Illinois) lost 6-0, 6-2 at No 4 singles to Lake Forest in the main draw and 8-3 to Ripon in the consolation semifinals.

Spencer Corn (Kansas City, Missouri) played at No. 5 singles and lost 6-0, 6-0 to Lake Forest in the main draw. He fell 8-2 to Lawrence in the consolation semifinals.

Andrew Nickols (Janesville, Wisconsin) lost 6-1, 6-0 at No. 6 singles against Lake Forest in the main draw and 8-0 to Ripon in the consolation semifinals.

The doubles teams of Day/Savage at No. 1, Perez/Sepich at No 2 and Nickols/Corn at No. 3 all lost 8-0 in the main draw.

The tournament continues on Sunday in Madison with all three doubles teams in the consolation.
