Monmouth College joins 'Heart Hunters' movement, including tartan-inspired design
Monmouth, Ill. (03/27/2020) — Monmouth College has joined the growing "Heart Hunters" movement, doing its part to give families a welcome distraction during the COVID-19 pandemic by creating three College-themed hearts.
The "Heart Hunters" social media movement - which grew out of a Facebook post by a woman from nearby Galesburg on March 21 - encourages people to cut out paper hearts and display them in their windows to allow families to enjoy a virtual scavenger hunt from a safe distance.
"We know everyone out there is affected by COVID-19 and unable to engage with your many communities - not just your physical home," said Monmouth Vice President for Development and College Relations Hannah Maher in a message to alumni and friends of the College. "By sharing a little Monmouth pride, we hope you may find members of your Monmouth community who are closer than you realize. We are still a Tartan Nation, and a strong one at that. We so look forward to 'seeing' our Monmouth community virtually until we can welcome you back home again."
