Monmouth intercepted St. Norbert three times in the first quarter and parlayed each into points en route to a 34-14 win on Monmouth's Family Weekend.

The Scots picked off the Knights six times, two shy of the program record, to pick up their first win of the year. Seth Cunningham began the pick parade, snaring a St. Norbert pass on the Green Knights' first possession to give Monmouth the ball on the St. Norbert 11. St. Norbert's defense held as the Scots settled for a Joey Biel field goal.

Clark Gaden - who recorded a pair of sacks - got his own interception on St. Norbert's ensuing possession, setting up a Henderson Francois 25-yard TD run to give Monmouth a 10-0 lead.

Monmouth held the visitors to a three-and-out following their score and put together an eight play, 84-yard drive capped by Francois' second rushing TD. The Scots piled on with a Devin Lawrence 34-yard run in the first period and another score from Francois, coming on a 78-yard pass from Brennan White to make it a 31-7 Monmouth lead after the first 15 minutes.

Neither team could muster another score until midway through the fourth quarter when Biel nailed a 29-yard field goal and St. Norbert scored on a one-yard run with 16 seconds left.

White completed 11 of his 18 passes for 194 yards while the ground game netted 154 yards - 78 form Lawrence and another 63 from Francois.

In addition to the six interceptions, Monmouth's swarming defense created four sacks and 11 tackles for loss in holding St. Norbert to their lowest point total of the season.

Monmouth travels to Ripon next Saturday in the first of a two-game road trip.
