Monmouth saved their best for last, but came up short in the Florida finale, dropping a 3-1 decision to Wisconsin Lutheran before being edged 1-0 by Anderson.

The Scots surrendered three runs in the first three innings in the day's opener to WLC and never could get over the hump. Zelinda Taylor came from the bullpen to shut the Warriors down and got help in the fifth when the Scots scored with two out. Abby Tucker milked a one-out walk and swiped second. One out later Jessica Pauley stroked a base hit to left bringing Tucker in with the Scots' lone run. Monmouth had one final chance in the seventh when Alison Trettin led off with a double and moved to third on a groundout. The threat ended with the tying runs at the corners as the Warriors induced a fly to right.

A run in the top of the first was the only scoring in the late game with Anderson. Hailey Rennick worked the full seven innings, surrendering just five hits - two in the first inning - to keep the Ravens within reach. The Scots mounted serious threats in the fifth and seventh innings, but could not find the key hit.

The Scots are scheduled to begin their northern schedule Mar. 18 at Augustana.
