Scots Win Five More Events Saturday, Both T&F Teams Finish Second

Maddie Boley Named Field Performer of the Year

MONMOUTH, Ill. (02/25/2024) — The Monmouth College track and field teams added four individual wins plus a relay win on Saturday as both the men's and women's team finished in second place at the Midwest Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships. Junior Maddie Boley (Beecher, Illinois) was named the Field Performer of the Year for the second straight season. The women finished second with 114.5 points, 21 behind Ripon. The men finished with 108.5 points, 29 behind Ripon.

Women
In the weight throw, Boley won the event with a new PR of 16.81m and the fourth-best throw in Monmouth history. Jillian Toth (El Paso, Illinois) took second at 14.76m with Brynn Hogan (Galena, Missouri) in seventh at 13.05m and Gracie Gibbons (Altona, Illinois) in eighth at 13.03m.

In the triple jump Carina Engst (Bloomington, Illinois) finished second at 10.65m. Delaney Rexroat (Monmouth, Illinois) took sixth at 10.21m with Emma Crofton (Neponset, Illinois) in seventh at 10.18m.

In the 60m dash, Makaiha Moore-Bell (Knoxville, Illinois) finished fifth in 8.03 seconds with Madison Rusk (Annawan, Illinois) right behind her in sixth at 8.09 seconds.

In the 200 Rusk took fifth in 26.70 while Moore-Bell was seventh with a PR of 27.08. Engst finished seventh in the 400m race in 1:03.17.

The distance medley relay, Lindsay Eaton (Danvers, Illinois), Ally Celus (Annawan, Illinois) Danielle Johnson (Annawan, Illinois) and Samantha Costello (Morris, Illinois) took seventh in 13:53.85

The 4x400m relay team of Rusk, Moore-Bell, Johnson and Carina Engst (Bloomington, Illinois) finished sixth.

Men
Caleb Toberman (Clifton, Illinois) led a 1-2-3 sweep for Monmouth in the weight throw. Toberman defended his title from last year with a winning throw of 18.67m. Shane Anderson (Lisle, Illinois) took second at 18.01m and Blake Orwig (Wyoming, Illinois) was third with a PR of 17.26m. Gunner Bryant (Curryville, Missouri) finished eighth with a PR of 15.23m,

Adrian Outlaw (Galesburg, Illinois) won the 400 with a career-best run of 50.99 seconds while Patrick Curry, Jr. (Chicago, Illinois) finished seventh in 51.80 seconds.

Eli Newton (Dallas City, Illinois) won the 800m race in 1:55.43, the second-fastest time in school history and the top time since Kel Bond set the school record of 1:53.80 in 2006.

The 4x400 relay team of Curry, Outlaw, Newton and Xavier Camper (Grayslake, Illinois) won in 3:24.34 with IC on their heels at 3:24.47

In the 60m race, Da'Von Patterson (Ponte Vedra, Florida) finished eighth in 7.20 seconds.

In the high jump, Curry finished sixth at 1.81m. In the pole vault Riley Bernas (Aurora, Illinois) finished fourth at 3.80m.

The distance medley relay team of Xander Stoub (Palos Heights, Illinois), Logan Morse (Yates City, Illinois), Braden Bernas (Aurora, Illinois) and William Plumley (Geneseo, Illinois) took seventh in 11:12.67.

Select members of the team will compete in last chance qualifiers next weekend in an attempt to qualify for the NCAA Division III Indoor Championships.
