Stockton Scores Twice as Scots Tie Beloit
MONMOUTH, Ill. (10/06/2024) — The Monmouth College women's soccer team picked up two goals from freshman Jaden Stockton (Springfield, Illinois) in a 2-2 draw at Beloit The Scots (2-6-3, 0-1-1) led 1-0 and 2-1 but ultimately settled for the draw in their first MWC road contest.
Stockton gave the Scots a 1-0 lead in the eighth minute of the game with her first career goal. However, the Buccaneers tied the game just 68 seconds later and neither team broke the tie before halftime as Anna Caster (Greenfield, Indiana) mad seven saves.
The game stayed 1-1 until the 52nd minute when Stockton scored again. This goal was assisted by Danielle Beach (Geneseo, Illinois) and put the Scots up 2-1. Beloit tied the game in the 77th minute and neither team found the winner in the final 13 minutes.
MONMOUTH MOMENTS: Avery Parks (Bloomington, Illinois) played all 90 minutes and has played every minute this season ... Caster and Mylee Hansen (Pekin, Illinois) also played all 90 ... Caster had 10 saves ... Beach leads Monmouth with five assists and 17 points ... She also took four shots in the game ... Monmouth was outshot 26-13 and shots on goal were 12-6 in favor of Beloit ... Monmouth travels to Cornell on Tuesday for a 4:30 p.m. kickoff ... The next home game is at 3:30 p.m. on Oct. 16 against Illinois College.
