Toberman Moves into Fifth on Monmouth List in Weight throw

Scots take part in Last Chance Qualifier in Wisconsin

MONMOUTH, Ill. (03/04/2023) — The Monmouth College track and field teams participated in the Wisconsin-Platteville last chance qualifier on Friday and junior Caleb Toberman (Clifton, Illinois) improved his standing with a career-best throw of 18.70m in the weight throw.

Friday's throw was a career-high for Toberman, passing his previous season best of 18.40m. The performance also ranks 5th in Monmouth history. Toberman won the weight throw and the shot put at last week's Midwest Conference championships.

As of 9:00 p.m on Friday, Toberman is 13th on the Division III rankings, up from 17th last week. The top 20 will head to the NCAA Indoor National Championships in Birmingham, Alabama next week and the official list will be announced by the NCAA on Sunday. There are more qualifiers on Saturday.

Shane Anderson (Lisle, Illinois) threw 18.16m in the weight throw, also a career-high and the 7th best throw in school history. He currently ranks 21st in the nation, just outside the cutoff.

Sophomore Maddie Boley (Beecher, Illinois) threw 12.76m nin the shot put.Her season-best of 12.93m ranks 46th. Senior Reed Wilson (Normal, Illinois) cleared 4.77m in the pole vault for a new season-high, ranking 25th in the nation.
