Copy of: Monmouth's Krall Completes All-American Trifecta

Monmouth, IL (12/21/2019) — Named a first team All-American by the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) the first week of December, Monmouth's Joe Krall (New Berlin, Ill./New Berlin) ended the month earning All-American status from the Associated Press and D3football.com to complete the "Big Three" trifecta the week before Christmas.

Krall, a 6-foot-4, 300 pound senior right tackle, earned first team All-American honors from the AFCA and D3football.com, and second team NCAA Division III Little All-America honors from the Associated Press. D3football.com had also named Krall a preseason All-American in August, giving him the status four times in his final season.

Named the Offensive Line MVP for 2019 by the Midwest Conference and first team D3football.com All-West Region, Krall was a key member of the offensive line that provided pass protection for three Scots' quarterback who threw for over 1,200 yards and had a cumulative pass efficiency rating of 101.46. He also helped pave the way for a pair of first-year starting running backs who combined to rush for nearly 1,300 yards.

Krall is the first football Scot to earn three postseason All-American honors from the three outlets since current NFL quarterback Alex Tanney in 2001. Only two others have earned at least two All-American postseason awards in the same season: Mike Blodgett (AP, D3football.com) in 2011 and Matt Barnes (AFCA, D3football.com) in 2016.

Last March, Kralll earned his first All-American award in any sport by finishing sixth in the weight throw in the NCAA Division III Indoor Championships.

A business major, Krall is the son of Connie Krall and Michael and Kathi Krall.
