Monmouth, IL (01/21/2020) — Big performances in a pair of crucial games last week has earned Monmouth Carley Turnbull (Mesa, Ariz./Mesa) this week's women's basketball Midwest Conference of the Week honor.
Turnbull led the team in points and rebound last week to pull the Scots into sole possession of second place in the MWC. The senior guard went 4-for-5 from the floor to pump in eight of Monmouth's 22 points in the third quarter as the Scots broke open a close game to down Knox 63-58. Turnbull finished with a double-double of 20 points and 11 rebounds while dishing out five assists. She dropped in 19 more points in an 84-48 win at Beloit on Saturday. For the week Turnbull averaged 19.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per game, going 15-for-25 (.600) from the floor and 7-of-9 (.778).
An exercise science major, Turnbull is the daughter of Mark and Carrie Turnbull.
