Signature Sound's Christmas tour to stop in Monmouth for MLCCS event on Nov. 24

by Barry McNamara

Monmouth, Ill. (11/20/2019) — Hours after the curtain closes on the final day of a holiday theatre production at Monmouth College, there will be another opportunity on campus to be immersed in Christmas spirit.

The next event in the Maple Leaf Community Concert Series will feature the Grammy Award-nominated Southern gospel quartet Signature Sound, led by its founder, Ernie Haase. The singers will perform a program of Christmas favorites at 7 p.m. Nov. 24 in the Kasch Performance Hall of the Monmouth Dahl Chapel and Auditorium.

The quartet's album A Jazzy Little Christmas debuted at No.1 on Soundscan's Christian seasonal sales chart and Southern gospel sales chart and has also reached the top 10 on Billboard's jazz albums chart and traditional jazz albums chart. The collection of holiday classics and sacred seasonal songs also landed at No. 20 on Billboard's Christian album sales chart.

Signature Sound has performed across the U.S. and around the world, and this year's Christmas tour will take the quartet to 14 states.

Haase began his performing career with the legendary gospel quartet The Cathedrals and has also sung with the Gaither Homecoming Tour. He formed Signature Sound in 2003.
