MONMOUTH, Ill. (05/22/2026) — With a personal best shot put throw of 14.15m, Monmouth College senior thrower Kayla Braun (Evansville, Illinois) finished third at the NCAA Division III Track and Field Championships in La Crosse, Wisconsin on Friday, earning All-American status.

Her finish is the best in school history in women's shot put and she is the first All-American in the event since Raven Robinson finished eighth in 2014. M Club Hall of Famer Allie Devor previously held the best finish in the event as she took seventh in both 2012 and 2013.

Braun's third throw of the day sailed 14.15m, topping her previous career best of 14.00m from April 23. Friday's 14.15m throw is the second-best in Monmouth history, only behind Robinson's record of 14.34m set in 2013 at an Augustana meet.

Her overall series for the day was 12.06m, 13.51m, 14.15m, 13.54m, 13.25m and 13.22m, Braun entered the event as the sixth qualifier and 14.48m was the winning throw on Friday.

Braun finishes her senior season with an All-American accolade to add to two All-Region selections, four Midwest Conference individual titles and two MWC Field Performer of the Year awards.

Teammate Jillian Toth (El Paso, Illinois) will throw in the hammer at 11 a.m. Saturday.
