Anderson, Boley, Newton Win Events at Keck Select Meet

MONMOUTH, Ill. (02/09/2025) — The Monmouth College men's and women's track and field teams competed at the Keck Select Invite hosted by Illinois Wesleyan on Saturday. The event included 20 teams ranging from Division I to junior colleges.

MEN

Eli Newton (Dallas City, Illinois) won the 800m race for the third week in a row. He cut two seconds off his time from last week and won at 1:56.05.

Shane Anderson (Lisle, Illinois) won the weight throw for the third straight week as he threw 18.81m. Caleb Toberman (Clifton, Illinois) took second with a throw of 18.62m and he placed fourth in the shot put with an indoor career-best 16.32m. That throw is the fifth-best indoor shot put in Monmouth history.

Gunner Bryant (Curryville, Missouri) took seventh in the weight throw with a PR of 16.90m. Blake Orwig (Wyoming, Illinois) was ninth in the shot put at 14.20m.

The men's 4x400m relay team of Janius Taylor (Lakeland, Florida), Da'Von Patterson (Ponte Vedra, Florida), Adrian Outlaw (Galesburg, Illinois) and Newton took third place with a time of 3:28.60

Taylor took 10th in the 200m race with a time of 22.89..

WOMEN

Maddie Boley (Beecher, Illinois) won the weight throw at 17.85m and took third in the shot put at 12.64m.Jillian Toth (El Paso, Illinois) was fourth in the weight throw at 15.83m with Kayla Braun (Evansville, Illinois) in fifth at 15.66m, both career highs. Braun also took seventh in the shot put at 12.32m while Brynn Hogan (Galena, Missouri) was seventh in the weight at 14.29m. Alayna Earle (Clinton, Illinois) was eighth in the shot put at 12.21m.

Miranda Hursey (Hanna City, Illinois) and Megan Dailey (Pendleton, Indiana) tied for ninth in the pole vault at 3.11m.
