Ashby Named First-Team All-Conference for Softball
MONMOUTH, Ill. (05/09/2026) — Monmouth College softball senior Karliegh Ashby (Monmouth, Illinois) was named First-Team All-Conference on Saturday. The second baseman was voted to the team by the MWC coaches after leading the Fighting Scots to their best season in eight years.
Ashby, started all 38 games and led the Scots in batting average (.403), slugging (.546), OBP (.497), hits (48), runs (34), doubles (14), walks (19), total bases (65) and stolen bases (13).
She finished third all-time in single season runs, fourth in doubles, fourth in walks, sixth in hits, eighth in steals, 12th in total bases and 17th in batting average.
Ashby was named Performer of the Week earlier in the season and finished her career ranked top 20 in Monmouth history in average, runs, hits, at-bats, doubles, walks, hit by pitches and stolen bases.
Ashby was a Second-Team selection in 2024 and she is the first position player to be MWC First-Team in a full season since Becca Gallis in 2017. Pitcher Abby Leber was a First-Team selection in 2022 and both Calista Warmowski and Jessica Pauley were South Division First Team choices in the truncated 2021 season.
