Bemis wins Illinois College Women's Golf Preview
Second title of season for senior
MONMOUTH, Ill (04/19/2021) — Senior Morgan Bemis (Alton, Illinois) claimed her second title of the 2021 women's golf season with a 79 at the Illinois College Women's Preview this weekend.
Bemis shot a 7-over 79 at The Links in Jacksonville, Illinois and beat Teresa Diez Dorta from Iowa Wesleyan by two strokes. Bemis also beat Diez Dorta at the Tiger Classic in Iowa back in March. That title was the first of her career as Bemis won on a tiebreaker.
Last weekened at Gibson Woods Bemis finished second with an 86 and she has three top-2 finishes on the season. She has finished top 10 in five straight events with four top-5 finishes. Bemis will next be in action at the SLIAC Championships in Jacksonville on May 1 and May 2.
