Boley, Anderson Pick up Wins at IC Hilltop Classic

Boley and Toberman climb up school rankings

MONMOUTH, Ill. (02/22/2025) — The Monmouth College men's and women's track and field teams were among 14 teams that competed at the IC Hilltop Classic on Friday night in Jacksonville, Illinois.

MEN

Shane Anderson (Lisle, Illinois) won the weight throw at 19.42m with Caleb Toberman (Clifton, Illinois) in second at 18.30m. Blake Orwig (Wyoming, Illinois) took fourth at 16.80m and Gunner Bryant (Curryville, Missouri) was fifth with a PR of 16.71m.

Toberman was second in the shot put, first among all D3 throwers, with a PR of 16.78m. That throw is the fifth-best in MC history for indoor.

Johnny York (Elmwood, Illinois) made the finals of the 60m and finished sixth in 7.08. He also finished sixth in the long jump at 6.30m.

Janius Taylor (Lakeland, Florida) took second in the 200m at 22.51 with Da'Von Patterson (Ponte Vedra, Florida) in fourth at 22.74 and Ka'ni Carson (Lincoln, Illinois) in sixth at 22.86.

Carson was third in the 400m in 52.34 with Eli Newton (Dallas City, Illinois) in seventh at 52.59 seconds.

Peter Soutsos (Highland Park, Illinois) finished sixth in the 60m hurdles in 8.96 seconds,

Patrick Curry (Chicago, Illinois) was sixth in the high jump with a season-best 1.80m.

WOMEN

Maddie Boley (Beecher, Illinois) won the weight throw with a PR of 18.47m, the second-best throw in school history. Jillian Toth (El Paso, Illinois) was third at 16.11m, Kayla Braun (Evansville, Illinois) was fourth at 15.09m and Abbie Johnson (LaHarpe, Illinois) was eighth with a PR of 14.57m.

Boley won the shot put with a throw of 13.01m. Braun took second with a PR of 12.55m and Toth was in fourth with a PR of 12.34m.

Madison Rusk (Annawan, Illinois) finished fourth in the 200m race with a PR of 26.49. Lauren Anderson (Cambridge, Illinois) was fifth in the high jump at 1.40m.
