Boley, Ruffin Turn in Top 10 MC Performances at Meet of Champions

MONMOUTH, Ill. (04/19/2025) — The Monmouth College men's and women's track and field teams competed at the Meet of Champions, hosted by Augustana, on Thursday and Friday.

Maddie Boley (Beecher, Illinois) delivered the second-best hammer throw in school history and Tashawn Ruffin (Bloomington, Illinois) turned in the seventh-best triple jump in MC history. Overall the Scots had 15 top-20 finishes at the event and racked up more than 20 new outdoor PRs

MEN

Ruffin finished fourth in the triple jump at 14.28m. The distance is a new PR for the sophomore and ranks seventh in school history, just above Seth Anderson's 14.26m performance in 2019.

Janius Taylor (Lakeland, Florida), Da'Von Patterson (Ponte Vedra, Florida), Adrian Outlaw (Galesburg, Illinois) and Johnny York (Elmwood, Illinois) took seventh in the 4x100m with a time of 42.16

Eli Newton (Dallas City, Illinois) was seventh in the 800 at 1:55.63, just 0.3 off his PR. Taylor was seventh in the 200m at 21.73, an outdoor PR.

Caleb Toberman (Clifton, Illinois) took sixth in the discus on Thursday night at 47.39m, a season-best. Toberman was eighth in the shot put with a season-best 15.03m.

Shane Anderson (Lisle, Illinois) took seventh in the hammer throw with a PR of 54.26m. That throw ranks fifth in MC history for the event.

Xander Stoub (Palos Heights, Illinois) finished third in the 5000m at 18:02.68.

WOMEN
Boley took fourth in the hammer with her PR throw of 53.96m. That throw is second in MC history, trailing only Hall of Famer Allie Devor's throw of 58.18m at the 2013 NCAA Championships. Jillian Toth (El Paso, Illinois) was fifth in the event at 53.37m

Boley took sixth in Thursday's discus at 42.36m while Kayla Braun (Evansville, Illinois) was ninth at 41,25. Boley also finished ninth in the shot put at 12.67m.

Miranda Hursey (Hanna City, Illinois) was fourth in the pole vault at 3.45m, an outdoor season-best.

Maddie Rusk (Annawan, Illinois) finished 10th in the 200m race with a PR of 25.55, just off the top 10 in Monmouth history.
