Bossert Cards Best Round for Scots at Midwest Region Classic
MONMOUTH, Ill. (09/21/2024) — The Monmouth men's golf team played the first round of the Midwest Region Classic on Friday at Brighton Dale Links in Kansasville, Wisconsin. The 44-team event concludes Saturday with round two.
Briggs Bossert (Evanston, Illinois) led the Scots on Friday with a +7 79 and he sits in a tie for 137th place. Thomas Henson (Geneseo, Illinois) shot a +11 83 and is tied for 198th place, just ahead of Cole Reavis (Buena Vista, Colorado) who shot a +12 84. CJ Pugh (Abingdon, Illinois) shot +18 90 and is in a tie for 234th while Zackery Manley (Lincoln, Illinois) is in 244th place with a +49 121.
The Scots are in 42nd place as a team with a score of +35. Saturday's second round begins at 8 a.m.
The women's team is not competing this weekend at the Midwest Region Classic and will next be in action at the SLIAC Championships October 6-8 in Metamora, Illinois. The men will play next weekend at the Millikin Invite in Decatur, Illinois.
