MONMOUTH, Ill. (10/17/2026) — The Monmouth College football team racked up 552 total yards and 27 first downs as they won at Beloit 63-7 on Saturday. The Fighting Scots (4-2, 4-0) had six different touchdown scorers on the day, including a defensive score, and Nate Wrublik (Lemont, Illinois) surpassed the 3000 career rushing yard plateau.

"We handled the trip and our fall break practices really well," said head coach Chad Braun. "Once they closed to 21-7 Silas hit the big play to Jeremiah and we went on that 21-0 run before half time to take the momentum back."

Beloit started the game with the ball and punted but Monmouth threw an interception on the second play. Kaden Foglesong (Ipava, Illinois) wrecked the next Beloit drive with a sack-fumble that was recovered by Nick Huston (Monmouth, Illinois). The Scots started on the Beloit 41 and Wrublik ran for 32 yards. Silas Braun (Monmouth, Illinois) put the visitors on the board with an 8-yard touchdown pass to Jeremiah Williams-Gregory (Oviedo, Florida).

Foglesong had another sack to stop a Beloit drive but the Scots fumbled on first and goal at the Beloit 7. After another Beloit punt, Braun hit Jerry Reed (Danville, Illinois) for 15 yards and Wrublik ran for seven more and a first down. On first and goal, Wrublik found the end zone from three yards out and Aiden Sensabaugh (East Moline, Illinois) made it 14-0 with the extra point.

Early in the second quarter, Armani Santos (West Palm Beach, Florida) recorded a sack after a penalty extended Beloit's drive. On the next play, Tashawn Ruffin (Bloomington, Illinois) intercepted a pass on the far sideline and returned it 40 yards for a touchdown and a 21-0 lead.

After another Beloit punt, Gabriel Zeigler-Harris (East Peoria, Illinois) set up the Scots offense with an 18-yard return across midfield. Wrublik ran for six and Braun hit Zeigler-Harris for seven yards but the drive stalled at the 29 and Monmouth turned it over on downs.

Beloit completed a 57-yard pass play and scored two plays later on a 5-yard run. Wrublik started the next Monmouth drive with an 11-yard run and the Scots picked up 15 yards on a penalty. Wrublik ran for nine and then scored on a 29-yard run for a 28-7 Monmouth lead.

Beloit fumbled the ensuing kickoff and Huston recovered on the Buccaneers 14. Two plays later Braun hit Reed on an 11-yard touchdown pass. Beloit punted again and on the second play, Braun hit Williams-Gregory for a 62-yard score and a 42-7 lead. The final three touchdowns of the half came in 1:44 seconds as Beloit took a knee to end the half.

Monmouth started the second half with the ball and Wrublik ran for 18 yards on the first play. After a pass interference and two Wrublik runs, Braun hit Gunner Bryant (Curryville, Missouri) for six and Williams-Gregory for 16. Braun found Hudson Ault (Fairview, Illinois) for a 16-yard touchdown and a 49-7 lead.

Kevin Soivilien (Miami, Florida) intercepted a Beloit pass and the Scots got the ball back on the Beloit 41. Wrublik ran for 12 and Bryant added a 12-yard reception. After Wrublik's touchdown run was called back for holding, Braun scored on a 13-yard keeper for a 56-7 lead.

John Kostuch (Kissimmee, Florida) took over at quarterback for the Scots and completed a pass for 72-yards to Chase Lefevers (Lemont, Illinois). Ault ran for six yards to end the third quarter and he started the fourth with an 11-yard touchdown run. Mylee Hansen (Pekin, Illinois) drilled the extra point for a 63-7 lead.

On the next drive, Kostuch hit Josh Papenhause (Tremont, Illinois) for 14 yards and John Ahlden (Ashkum, Illinois) ran for three. Kostuch ran for 21 yards and Ahlden ran for eight but the Scots eventually turned the ball over on downs on the Bucs 24.

Riley Danner (Oneida, Illinois) took over at quarterback on the next drive and threw for a first down to Chadiell Echavarria (Spring Hill, Florida) after Immanuel Hall (Barrington, Illinois) ran for a first down. Ty Jackson (Pekin, Illinois) ran for seven yards and then added another five. Hall ran for 12 yards for a first down at the 2-minute warning. Van Gerber (Chana, Illinois) took a knee in victory formation for the 63-7 final score.

"I thought we came out and played a really good second half today," said Braun.

Wrublik ran 23 times for 170 yards and two touchdowns and seven other Scots combined for 121 yards on 25 carries as Braun and Ault ran for scores. Braun completed 11-of-20 passes for 164 yards with four touchdowns and one interception. Kostuch threw for 86 yards and Danner threw for 11. Williams-Gregory caught three passes for 83 yards and two touchdowns while Reed and Ault also had touchdown catches.

Jeremiah Hardnett (O'Fallon, Illinois) led the Scots with six tackles, including two TFL. Fogelsong had five tackles, 2.5 TFL and two sacks. Ruffin and Soivilien both had interceptions while Huston recovered two fumbles.
