Braun Named MWC Performer of the Week
MONMOUTH, Ill. (04/28/2026) — Monmouth College senior thrower Kayla Braun (Evansville, Illinois) was named Midwest Conference Field Performer of the Week on Tuesday. This is her third outdoor award of the season after she won back-to-back March 31 and April 7.
Braun jumped to fourth nationally with a new PR of 14.00m in the shot put at Thursday night's home meet. Her throw ranks third in Monmouth history and leads the MWC by 1.33m. Braun won the discus on Thursday night at 39.47m, a season-best throw that ranks second in the MWC. She also set a new PR in the hammer at 45.19 which finished third in the meet and ranks third in the MWC this season.
This is the Scots fourth field performer of the week award on the women's side during the outdoor season as fellow senior Jillian Toth (El Paso, Illinois) won last week. The Scots will host the Fighting Scot Invitational at 10:30 a.m. Saturday and the seniors will be honored at 11:45.
