Braun Repeats as MWC Field Performer of the Week
MONMOUTH, Ill. (04/08/2026) — Monmouth College senior thrower Kayla Braun (Evansville, Illinois) repeated as Midwest Conference Field Performer of the Week on Tuesday.
At Saturday's Viking Olympics, hosted by Augustana, Braun threw a season-best 13.40m in the shot put to finish second. The throw leads the Midwest Conference by 1.5 meters and ranks #15 for Division III nationally. She took sixth in the discus at 39.91m which leads the MWC by nearly a full meter this season. She has won both of the Field Performer of the Week awards in the MWC for the outdoor season.
Braun was the MWC Field Performer of the Year at the indoor meet in Feburary and she won multiple POW awards for the indoor season. Braun and her teammates will compete on Saturday at the Dick Young Classic, hosted by Grinnell College.
