Caster Named MWC Soccer Performer of the Week
MONMOUTH, Ill. (09/03/2024) — Monmouth College senior goalkeeper Anna Caster (Greenfield, Indiana) was named Midwest Conference Defensive Performer of the Week on Tuesday. The honor covers the opening week of the Monmouth season with two games.
Caster played all 90 minutes in the opening game of the season with an impressive 15 saves in the 1-1 home draw against Edgewood. The 15 saves are two off her career high from last fall against Beloit. Caster came off the bench and played 25 minutes in goal at Buena Vista on Sunday. She made four saves and did not allow a goal in the 2-1 loss.
For the week, Caster played just under 116 minutes and allowed one goal while facing 31 shots. She collected 19 saves with a .950 save percentage.
The Scots have two home games this week with a Wednesday night tilt against Millikin (5pm) and a Saturday morning game against Rockford (11am). Saturday is Senior Day and also an alumni celebration of 30 seasons of Monmouth women's soccer.
