Chandler Named to D3football.com Team of the Week
MONMOUTH, Ill. (09/23/2025) — Monmouth College senior Derek Chandler (Monmouth, Illinois) was named to the D3football.com Team of the Week on Tuesday as a special teams player. This is the second straight week the Scots have had a selection on the D3football.com Team of the Week after kicker Mylee Hansen (Pekin, Illinois) earned the honor last week.
Chandler blocked two punts for the Fighting Scots in a 49-6 win at Lake Forest on Saturday. In a 21-6 game he blocked a punt on the Lake Forest 23 in the third quarter. Two drives later he blocked another punt on the Foresters 39, returning it 20 yards. He also had four tackles in the game and forced a fumble on the second play of the contest.
Chandler was named Midwest Conference Special Teams Performer of the Week on Monday. The Scots have a bye this week before heading to Grinnell on Oct. 4.
