Cross Country Runners Finish Season at NCAA MW Region Championships

MONMOUTH, Ill. (11/16/2024) — The Monmouth College cross country teams finished their season at the NCAA Midwest Region Championships on Saturday. The event was hosted by Augustana College at Saukie Golf Course in Rock Island, Illinois.

Samantha Costello (Morris, Illinois) led the women with a 119th place finish in 24:57.0, Melissa Bivolarov (Arlington Heights, Illinois) finished 136th in 26:34.4 and Danielle Johnson (Annawan, Illinois) was 155th in 26:49.2. Paige Luntsford (Cairo, Missouri) was 164th in 27:36.34, and Kaeley Kent (Springfield, Illinois)

On the men's side, Xander Stoub (Palos Heights, Illinois) finished in 131st place in a time of 27:27.2. Eli Newton (Dallas City, Illinois) covered the course in 27:36.9, finishing 142nd

Overall the women finished in 23rd place and the men did not have a team score. The cross country runners now transition into track and field season with the first indoor meet on Dec. 13 at Central College.
