Cross Country Teams Complete Season at NCAA Regionals
Colter (Men) and Eaton (Women) log best times for Scots
MONMOUTH, Ill. (11/13/2022) — At the NCAA Midwest Regionals on Saturday, the Monmouth College FIghting Scots finished 26th in the men's race and did not record a team score in the women's race at Northwestern Medicine Cross Country Course in Geneva, Illinois
Neo Colter (Geneseo, Illinois) led the men with a 127th place finish and a new career high of 27:59.0. He beat his season and career high from the Midwest Conference Championships by three seconds.
William Plumley (Geneseo, Illinois) finished 140th in 28:20.7, just beating teammate Eli Newton (Dallas City, Illinois) who crossed the line in 28:26.4 Alex Urbina (Round Lake Beach, Illinois) finished 196th in 31:03.9 while Braden Bernas (Aurora, Illinois) finished 205th in 31:54.9.
Harrison Hicks (Spring Grove, Illinois) finished 214th in 33:03.6 and Brendan Jones (Mascoutah, Illinois) finished 217th in a season-best 33:34.2.
On the women;s side, each runner established a new season high and four of the five set new career highs for the 6k distance.
Lindsay Eaton (Danvers, Illinois) was 154th in 28:00.8, and Skylar Garey (Metamora, Illinois) finished 174th in 29:57.7. Kari Coulter (Keithsburg, Illinois) was 198th with a career-best time of 34:41.5, 10 seconds better than what she ran at the MWC meet. Lexi Shields (Viola, Illinois) was 200th with a time of 34:58.9..
With four runners the Scots didn;t log a team score as the minimum required for a team score is five runners. The NCAA Regionals meet ends the cross country season for both the men and the women.
