Cross Nets Weekly Honor for Scots' Women's Soccer
Monmouth, IL (09/09/2019) — A stingy defense has led to an unbeaten open for the Monmouth College women's soccer season and a Midwest Conference Defensive Performer of the Week award for the Scots' Devin Cross (Wentzville, Mo./Timberland).
Cross's defense was instrumental in Monmouth's 2-0 weekend. The senior midfielder helped the Scots to a 2-1 double overtime win at Concordia Chicago on Friday by keeping CUC in check with just two shot attempts in the overtime periods. On Sunday, a 4-1 win at Buena Vista, Cross was part of a unit that held the Beavers to a mere four shots, just two on goal. Cross put both of her shots in the game on goal and added a score in the 63rd minute as Monmouth stayed unbeaten on the year.
A political science major, Cross is the daughter of Michelle Cross.
