Donohoo Scores Four But Men's Lacrosse Falls to Marian
Monmouth heads to Quincy on Wednesday
MONMOUTH, Ill. (02/26/2023) — The Monmouth College men's lacrosse team played their first game away from home this season and lost 16-6 in a neutral site game against Marian (Wis.) University. The game was played at Carthage College due to inclement weather in northern Wisconsin.
Marian jumped out to a 5-0 lead before Kain Donohoo (St. Charles, Illinois) got the Scots on the board with an unassisted goal. Marian added four more goals to lea 9-1 after the first quarter.
Down 10-1, Donohoo scored again, halfway through the second quarter. After Marian scored, Michael Casey (Chicago, Illinois) scored an unassisted goal and Donohoo finished off a first-half hat trick to make it 11-4 at halftime.
Marian scored the first three goals of the third quarter before Donohoo scored his fourth of the game, unassisted. Both teams scored once in the final quarter with Casey netting his second of the day off an assist from Carlos Hernandez (Billings, Montana).
Donohoo has scored four goals in two straight games and has 73 career goals and 108 career points, both ranking second on the school's all-time list.
The Scots will next be in action on Wednesday, March 1 at Quincy University with a 6 p.m. faceoff.
