Erxleben, Sprint Medley Relay Post Wins at Grinnell Invite

MONMOUTH, Ill. (02/01/2026) — The Monmouth College men's and women's track and field teams competed at the Grinnell College Invitational on Saturday. Grinnell will host the MWC Indoor Championships at the end of February.

MEN

Freshman Landon Erxleben (Pekin, Illinois) won the shot put with a PR of 15.42, the top mark in the MWC and a top 50 throw in all of D3 this season.

Blake Orwig (Wyoming, Illinois) placed fifth in the weight throw at 16.19m.

Tashawn Ruffin (Bloomington, Illinois) was fourth in the triple jump at 12.86m.

Da'Von Patterson (Ponte Vedra, Florida) finished second in the 200m with a season-best 22.74. He also finished second in the 400m with a time of 51.17.

Andrew Peterson (Galesburg, Illinois) finished fourth in the 800m with a PR of 2:01.51.

Logan Morse (Yates City, Illinois) finished second in the high jump at 1.88m.

Lane Grice (East Galesburg, Illinois) finished fourth in the pole vault with a PR of 3.85 while Matthew Bright (Macomb, Illinois) was fifth at 3.70m.

The Monmouth Sprint Medley Relay team of Patterson, Peterson, Maddux Clark (Monmouth, Illinois) and Jerry Reed (Danville, Illinois) won with a time of 3:43.02

WOMEN
Kayla Braun (Evansville, Illinois) placed second in the weight throw at 15.08m and fourth in the shot put at 12.31m. Brynn Hogan (Galena, Missouri) was fifth in the weight throw at 13.89m.

Paige Luntsford (Cairo, Missouri) finished third in the 5000m as she took more than a minute off her indoor PR and recorded the 10th best time in Monmouth history at 19:07.08. That time is also the best for any Monmouth runner indoors in the 5k since 2020.
