Foglesong Sets School Record in Heptathlon at Last Chance Qualifier
Toth delivers top-5 weight throw in school history
MONMOUTH, Ill. (03/07/2026) — The Monmouth College men's and women's track and field teams had five athletes compete in two Last Chance Qualifier meets this weekend. Freshman Kaden Foglesong (Ipava, Illinois) broke his own school record in the heptathlon with 4503 points and senior Jillian Toth (El Paso, Illinois) delivered the fifth-best weight throw in school history.
Foglesong began his heptathlon at the Wartburg meet on Friday with new PRs in the 60m, the long jump and the shot put. He ran 7.30 seconds in the 60m race to earn 730 points before picking up 626 points with a 6.18m long jump. Foglesong went a meter further than his previous best with a 13.14m throw in the shot put to earn 676 points and he finished the day with 585 points from a 1.75m high jump.
On Saturday, Foglesong added 818 points with a second-place finish in the 60m hurdles at 8.68 seconds. He finished third in the 1000m at 3:28.06 to add 416 points and another 603 points after clearing 3.95m in the pole vault. Overall, Foglesong finished third at 4503 points, a new career-high for the event and a school record.
On Friday in Platteville, Wisconsin, Toth won the weight throw with a new PR of 16.86m, the fifth best throw in Monmouth history,.Kayla Braun (Evansville, Illinois) finished fifth at 16.14m. Braun also finished fourth in the shot put at 13.11m.
On Saturday in Iowa, Toth took seventh in the weight throw at 15.66m just ahead of Braun at 15.32m. Braun was third in the shot put at 13.04m.
Tashawn Ruffin (Bloomington, Illinois), finished fifth in the triple jump at 13.32m. Da'Von Patterson (Ponte Vedra, Florida) finished 11th in the 200m race at 22.80 seconds.

Without any qualifiers for the NCAA Indoor Championships, the Scots are off until starting the outdoor season at Illinois State University on March 27. .
