Four Football Players Named CSC Academic All-District

by Nathan Baliva

MONMOUTH, Ill. (01/06/2026) — The Monmouth College football team had four student-athletes named Division III Academic All-District by College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA) on Tuesday. To qualify for CSC Academic All-District, student-athletes must be at least sophomore standing, have a minimum 3.50 cumulative GPA and participate in at least 90% of their teams games or start at least 66% of the games.

Senior Derek Chandler (Monmouth, Illinois) is an honoree for the third straight year, tying a program record. Junior John Ahlden (Ashkum, Illinois) was a repeat selection while juniors Silas Braun (Monmouth, Illinois) and Gunner Bryant (Curryville, Missouri) were first time selections.

Chandler was also a repeat first-team Midwest Conference selection this season at defensive back. This marks the second straight year the Scots have had four football selections on the All-District Academic team for CSC.

For the fall season, the Scots had 17 players named CSC Academic All-District for the 2025-26 academic year. The next announcement will be in March after the conclusion of the swimming and basketball seasons.
