Four Monmouth Volleyball Players Earn Academic All-District
MONMOUTH, Ill. (12/17/2024) — The Monmouth College volleyball team had four student-athletes named Division III Academic All-District by College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA) on Tuesday. To qualify for CSC Academic All-District, student-athletes must be at least sophomore standing, have a minimum 3.50 cumulative GPA and participate in at least 90% of their teams games or start at least 66% of their games.
Senior Paige Bergschneider (Alexander, Illinois) earned the honor for a third straight season, the most ever by a Monmouth volleyball player. Senior Savannah Robinson (Delavan, Illinois) was a repeat selection while junior Alana Robertson (Mapleton, Illinois) and sophomore Zoe Nizzia (Pekin, Illinois) were both first0time selections.
Bergschneider and Robinson will be in line for their fourth straight Midwest Conference All-Academic selection in July while Robertson has two MWC awards and Nizzia has one. The Monmouth volleyball team has also been recognized as an AVCA All-Academic Team with a team GPA of at least 3.30 in each of the last three seasons and in every non-Covid year since 2015.
On the court, Robinson was a second-team All-Midwest Conference performer this season. This quartet helped the Scots to their best record in more than a decade, including a spot in the Midwest Conference Tournament as the #3 seed.
The Scots had seven soccer players earn All-District honors last month, bringing the total to 11 so far for the 2024-25 season. The CSC football honorees will be announced January 7.
