Hobson Named Performer of the Week

by Nathan Baliva

MONMOUTH, Ill. (10/27/2025) — Monmouth College women's soccer player Mariah Hobson (Princeton, Illinois) was named Midwest Conference Offensive Performer of the Week on Monday.

Hobson scored two goals and provided an assist in Monmouth's 3-2 road win at Cornell on Saturday. The junior had a hand in all three goals as the Scots took control of their MWC Tournament destiny with the win. Hobson tied the game with a goal late in the first half and then scored early in the second half for a 2-1 lead. She delivered an assist to freshman Morgan Kistler (Kokomo, Indiana) in the 50th minute for a 3-1 lead.

Hobson has five goals on the season, two multi-goal games, and 11 career goals. She joins Kistler as the only Monmouth players to win Performer of the Week this season. The Scots finish the regular season against nationally ranked Lake Forest at 11 a.m. Saturday. The Scots will reach the MWC Tournamenf for the first time since 2019 with a win. They will also clinch a spot with a tie as long as Ripon doesn't beat Lawrence and there is a pathway to the tournament without a draw/win but the Scots would need both Grinnell and Ripon to lose/draw.
