Kayla Braun Named Track & Field MWC Performer of the Week

MONMOUTH, Ill. (12/09/2025) — Monmouth College senior thrower Kayla Braun (Evansville, Illinois) was named Midwest Conference Field Performer of the Week for the first week of the track and field indoor season.

At Saturday's Frigid Bee Opener, hosted by St. Ambrose, Braun took second in the shot put at 12.36m. That throw was the best of the weekend by a D3 athlete and ranks #1 in the Midwest Conference on the season. Braun also ranks 11th nationally for all D3 throwers in the shot put.

Braun and teammate Jillian Toth (El Paso, Illinois) went 1-2 in the weight throw as both threw 15.26m. That distance ranks 2nd in the MWC so far this season and 26th nationally.

The Scots are off for the winter holiday break before returning to campus in early January. The next meet is back in Davenport for the Fighting Bee Invitational at St. Ambrose on Saturday, Jan. 17.
