Monmouth couldn't overcome a cold shooting second quarter in Tuesday's 65-52 loss to Augustana, ending the Scots' season opening win streak at four.

The Scots roared out to an 18-11 first quarter lead, holding the Vikings to a 4-of-16 shooting effort in the first eight minutes. Augustana turned the tables in the second quarter when Monmouth hit just two of their 14 shots from the floor to enter halftime trailing 27-23.

Both teams heated up in the second half, but the Scots could gain no ground as the Vikings inched further ahead in the final two quarters despite a double-double from Carley Turnbull who produced a 10-point, 10-rebound night. Jordan Kintigh paced the Scots with a game-high 15 points on 6-of-10 shooting.

The Scots resume play next Wednesday hosting Illinois College in the Midwest Conference opener for both teams.
