by Nathan Baliva

MONMOUTH, Ill. (10/20/2025) — The Monmouth College women's tennis team completed their fall season at the Midwest Conference Individual Tournament on Sunday in Madison, Wisconsin.

Natalie Labicki (Antioch, Illinois) won the consolation final at No. 2 singles over Illinois College 8-7 with an 8-6 win in the tiebreaker. Natalie Holst (East Moline, Illinois) won the consolation final at No. 4 singles on Sunday 8-7 (3) against a player from Lawrence.

"Both Labicki and Holst came back to win in tiebreakers and they both showed a lot of toughness," said head coach Brian Dahlstrom. "It was a fun Sunday to close out the fall season with wins."

Ivana Stefanova (Streamwood, Illinois) and Labicki (Antioch, Illinois) lost at No. 1 doubles semifinals 8-2 to Lake Forest. Holst and Kimber Calvert (Paris, Illinois) and Alayna McKinley (Rock Island, Illinois) beat Ripon 8-6 in the consolation semifinals in No. 2 doubles before falling 8-0 in the finals against Lawrence. Tiah Riggs (Vincennes, Indiana) and Alayna McKinley (Rock Island, Illinois) beat Lawrence 8-5 in the No. 3 consolation semifinals before falling 8-2 to Ripon.

"We had two close wins in doubles in the semifinals, reversing losses from earlier in the season," said Dahlstrom. "It is great to see our teams working together, building points and making really good shot selection choices."

The women's team will play against Webster indoors on Feb. 28 for their next match.
