Mann '95 to return to campus to speak at next Monmouth Associates

by Barry McNamara

Monmouth, Ill. (02/12/2026) — In 1969, before he was even born, eventual Monmouth College graduate Dave Mann lost his father in the Vietnam War.

Fifty-six years later, Mann visited the site of his father's death at Dak To through the 2 Sides Project.

At the next Monmouth Associates luncheon on Feb. 19, Mann will return to campus to share his journey of self-discovery as a Gold Star son of the Vietnam War, finding peace with the conflict and the people of Vietnam. The noon luncheon will be held in Mellinger Commons on the lower level of the Center for Science and Business.

Mann's presentation is free, but there is a $15 charge per ticket to eat lunch at the event. Individuals attending the meal are asked to make reservations by Feb. 15 at 309-457-2291 or at alumni@monmouthcollege.edu.

Parking is available in the Center for Science and Business lot or along Broadway.
