Men's Cross Country Finishes 6th at MWC Championships

MONMOUTH, Ill. (10/31/2026) — The Monmouth College Cross Country teams ran in the Midwest Conference Championships at the Beloit Country Club on Saturday. The men finished in sixth place with186 points while the women did not earn a team score.

Xander Stoub (Palos Heights, Illinois) led the Scots with a 37th place finish in 27:24 and Andrew Peterson (Galesburg, Illinois) was 50th in 27:55. Fernando Avila Rubio (Alpha, Illinois) was right behind Peterson as he finished 52nd in 27:56 and Dawid Opiola (Arlington Heights, Illinois) was 60th in 28:10. Wyatt Hall (Oneida, Illinois) finished 64th in 28:18.

Jack Wayne (Yorkville, Illinois) was 66th in 28:20 and Braden Rees (Galesburg, Illinois) was 102nd in 29:41. Riley Morgan (Jewett, Illinois) ran 29:52 to place 105th and Larry Kamara (Alpha, Illinois) finished 146th in a season best 35:37.

In the women's race freshman Morgan Sheley (Lincoln, Illinois) finished 33rd with a new PR of 24:23.0. Senior Melissa Bivolarov (Arlington Heights, Illinois) finished 70th in 26:02.

MONMOUTH MOMENTS: The men moved up two spots after finishing in eighth palace last season ... They also placed sixth in 2024Sheley took three seconds off her PR from the Bradley race two weeks ago ... The Scots will compete at the NCAA Midwest Regional on Nov. 14 at Saukie Golf Course in Rock Island.
