Men's Soccer Falls at IWU on Wednesday

MONMOUTH, Ill. (09/19/2024) — The Monmouth College men's soccer team lost a non-conference game 3-0 at Illinois Wesleyan on Wednesday. The Fighting Scots (2-3-1) have one non-conference game left on the schedule before opening Midwest Conference play next Saturday.

Neither team scored in the first 39 minutes before IWU won a penalty They converted the spot kick in the 40th minute and took a 1-0 lead into halftime.

The Titans netted in the 77th and 84th minute to finish the scoring. Monmouth goalkeeper Alejandro Zamarripa (El Paso, Texas) made a season and career-high eight saves in the game

MONMOUTH MOMENTS: Treyton Yi (Streamwood, Illinois) played all 90 minutes for the sixth straight game ... Zamarripa and Ramon Aguilar (St. Louis, Missouri) also played all 90 minutes ... Monmouth was outshot 27-6 ... Omar Portillo (El Paso, Texas) had two shots on goal for the Scots while Parker Davis (Burlington, Iowa) had one ... The Scots play home next Wednesday against Millikin.
