Men's Soccer Opens Season at Home on August 30
MONMOUTH, Ill. (07/03/2025) — The Monmouth College men's soccer team will have the first official home event of the 2025-26 school year for any Fighting Scots team when they host North Central on Saturday, August 30. The Scots will begin and end Midwest Conference play at home while also playing games in Missouri, Wisconsin and Iowa. The 2025 season will be the fifth under head coach Ian Hatleli.
The Scots start the season at home for the first time since 2019 when they host North Central at 1 p.m. on August 30. The teams have not met since the Cardinals won 3-1 in 2013 and NC leads the all-time series 3-0. North Central is coming off a 10-win season that included a CCIW Tournament Championship and a penalty kick loss in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
The Scots host Augustana at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, September 2 for a second straight home game. The Scots beat the Vikings 1-0 in 2022 but Augustana leads the all-time series 11-4. .
The first road game will serve as a homecoming for coach Hatleli as he takes the Fighting Scots to his alma mater, Millikin, for the first time. The game in Decatur will take place on Saturday, September 6. The Big Blue won in Monmouth 4-1 last year and lead the all-time series 9-5-1.
The Scots stay on the road for another game in Illinois as they head to Eureka on September 10 for a game under the lights. The teams have not met since a 4-1 Monmouth win in 2018. The Scots are 5-0-1 all-time against the Red Devils with five straight wins.
The Scots play host to Buena Vista on September 13 in the first game of a DH with the women. Monmouth lost to BVU on the road last year 3-2 after drawing against the Beavers at home in 2021.
Monmouth heads to Missouri and Wisconsin for two more non-conference games in September. First up is a first-ever meeting against the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St. Louis on Tuesday, September 16. Four days later the Scots head north to play Wisconsin-Stevens Point. The teams met for the first time ever last September with a 0-0 draw at Peacock Park.
Midwest Conference play starts with Senior Day on Saturday, September 27 as the Scots host Beloit. The men play second this season on Saturday DH's so kickoff is set for 1:30 p.m. while football is on the bye week. Monmouth trails the all-time series 19-7-3 and Beloit has won the last four, including a 2-1 home win in 2024
October starts with a trip to Grinnell for a Wednesday afternoon kickoff. The Scots ended an 11-game losing streak to the Pioneers last season with a 1-0 home win to end the season. Grinnell is 48-11-1 all-time against the Scots.
After a bye week, the Scots head to Knox for a second straight season. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. on October 7. Monmouth lost in Galesburg 5-2 last October and the Prairie Fire lead the series 39-19-4 with nine straight wins.
The Scots return home for a Fall Break game at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 11 against Lawrence. The all-time series is even at 11-11-4 with two straight 2-2 draws.
Monmouth is back at Peacock Park for a 3 p.m. Wednesday kickoff against Illinois College on October 15. The Blue Boys won in Monmouth last season but the Scots lead the all-time series 24-16-7.
While Monmouth celebrates homecoming on campus, the soccer teams will be in northern Wisconsin for a DH at Ripon. The Red Hawks beat the Scots 3-2 last year and lead the series 15-10-3.
Another Saturday DH comes on October 25 with the Scots at Cornell. Monmouth leads the all-time series 31-23-7 but the Rams won at home 3-1 last October.
Monmouth finishes the regular season at home on Saturday, November 1 with a 1:30 p.m. kickoff against defending champion Lake Forest. The Foresters won both the regular season and tournament crowns last year before falling in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Monmouth beat Lake Forest 3-2 at home two years ago and lost on the road 4-0 in 2024. The Foresters lead the all-time series 21-5-3.
Overall the Scots are scheduled to play 15 games, seven at home and eight on the road. Nine games are set for Saturday while the Scots play three times each on Tuesday and Wednesday. The Scots will play twice in Wisconsin and Iowa, once in Missouri and 10 times in Illinois.
