Chalk up another shutout for the Monmouth men's soccer team after Tuesday's 3-0 win over Coe to move to 5-3 on the season. Four of the Scots' five wins have come via a shutout.

Monmouth outshot the Kohawks 20-6, putting 10 shots on goal. Nicolas Esparon netted the ice-breaker in the 19th minute, taking a feed from Cadan Glattback and finding the back of the net. Leading 1-0 in the waning minutes of the first half, Martin Zafirov and Reid Sondgeroth combined to feed Alvaro Alvarez for his fourth goal of the season, giving the Scots a 2-0 advantage in the 42nd minute. Zafirov added an insurance goal in the 78th minute on a dish from Roble Mohammed. Marcos Garibay earned the win, stopping the four shots he faced to improve to 4-1 on the season.

It was the final match for the Scots before opening Midwest Conference play this weekend with a Saturday contest at St. Norbert and a Sunday affair at Beloit.
