Monmouth's Batterton Ends Career with First All-Midwest Conference Selection

Monmouth, IL (02/27/2020) — Monmouth's Justin Batterton (Astoria, Ill./South Fulton) had the best season of his Fighting Scots' career as a senior and was rewarded with his first All-Midwest Conference selection in a vote of the league's coaches.

Named to the second team, Batterton averaged over 13 points and six rebounds a game - both career-highs - in his final season. The forward was especially effective on the glass, where he led the team in total rebounds (151), defensive rebounds (119) and offensive rebounds (32). His 126 field goals, 81 free throws and 106 trips to the line were also Monmouth highs this season. A 55 percent field goal shooter, Batterton shot over 76 percent from the line. Playing in all 25 games, he scored double figures 14 times with a high of 29 in a Scots victory in late January.

A business major, he is the son of Bill and Mona Batterton.
