Monmouth's Batterton Nets Third Weekly Midwest Conference Honor
Monmouth, IL (02/10/2020) — For the third time this season Monmouth's Justin Batterton (Astoria, Ill./South Fulton) has been named the Midwest Conference Performer of the Week for men's basketball.
Batterton rarely missed a shot last week while averaging 25 points and eight rebounds per game. The senior forward poured in 24 points on 9-of-14 shooting in Wednesday's 77-69 loss to Cornell and added another 26 points on 11-of-14 shooting in Saturday's 94-90 win over Grinnell. He also pulled 12 rebounds - 10 defensive - against the Pioneers. For the week Batterton went 20-of-28 (.714) from the floor and 10-for-12 (.833) from the free throw line.
A business major, Batterton is the son of Bill Batterton.
