Monmouth's Jones Earns Honorable Mention POW from Water Polo Conference
Monmouth, IL (09/25/2019) — Double-digit saves against an NCAA Division II team last week has earned Monmouth's Kyle Jones (Parkland, Ill./Stoneman Douglas) an honorable mention Performer of the Week nod from the Scots' water polo conference.
Jones turned in a 16-save performance last Saturday in a road loss to McKendree University to earn the Collegiate Water Polo Association honor. It's the sophomore's second double-digit saves game this season after turning aside a school-record 23 shots in the season opener against Salem International. Just two games into his second season, Jones has eclipsed the program's career saves record with 200 stops.
An economics major, Jones is the son of Mireille Jones and Craig Jones.
