Monmouth Volleyball Earns AVCA Team Academic Award
MONMOUTH, Ill. (07/23/2026) — The Monmouth College volleyball team earned the 2026 AVCA Team Academic Award with a GPA over 3.3 for the 2025-26 academic year. The Scots have earned the honor from the AVCA three years in a row and in 13 of the last 15 seasons.
The 2025 team returned to the Midwest Conference Tournament for the second year in a row and third time in five seasons. The Scots also had their first ever MWC Player of the Year in Kaylee Celus (Annawan, Illinois) while senior Alana Robertson (Mapleton, Illinois) was on the MWC Second Team. Celus and Robertson were joined by Zoe Nizzia (Pekin, Illinois) and Chloe Strachan (Reynolds, Illinois) on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team. The Scots also had 10 of 17 eligible players named Midwest Conference All-Academic last week.
The 2026 season gets underway at Loras on Tuesday, September 1. After tournaments in Bloomington, Illinois and Greencastle, Indiana, the home opener is set for Tuesday, September 15 against Augustana.
