Monmouth Women's Golf Pair Named Academic All-Conference

Monmouth, IL (11/27/2019) — The inaugural season of women's golf in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference has scored all-academic honors for Monmouth's Mamie Ambrosch (Metamora, Ill./Metamora) and Kaniesha Whatley (Nashville, Tenn./Hume Fogg Magnet).

Ambrosch, a junior biochemistry major, is a three-time academic all-conference honoree, earning the status twice while the Scots were members of the Midwest Conference. She carried an 83.27 stroke average during the fall season. Ambrosch is the daughter of Thomas Ambrosch and Deirdre Nelson.

Whatley, a senior political science and French major, earned her third all-academic honor, picking up the award as a freshman and sophomore while Monmouth competed in the Midwest Conference. She posted a 96.00 scoring average during the fall season. Whatley is the daughter of Claude and Bernadette Whatley.

In order to earn academic all-SLIAC honors, student-athletes must have achieved at least a sophomore status at their institution and hold a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5.
